Abstract

We discuss the problem of ordering random-bond and disordering random-field effects in the quadrupolar orientational glass. Molecular field estimation, improved by configurational and thermal fluctuations, is given in the framework of the short-range vector model for site-diluted ortho-para hydrogen mixtures. We conclude that quadrupolar glass orientational ordering critically depends on the random-bond effects and is driven by strong correlated molecular and reaction fields.
