Abstract

Background Despite recognition that universal health coverage should include a continuum of care, including for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), little is known about equality of care for chronic needs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Past research has focused on maternal health care inequalities. Comparing equality of care for different care needs may identify priorities and generate new hypotheses about causal pathways.
