Abstract

Previous studies have suggested that early carotid revascularization (ie, during the index hospitalization) may help reduce the risk of additional neurologic events without excess perioperative morbidity. We sought to understand the relationship between rates of early carotid revascularization and hospital density/distribution within metropolitan areas of Texas.
