Abstract
Malnutrition, inflammation and the so called wasting syndrome predict poor outcome in heart failure (HF) [1]. Albumin and total cholesterol have been used as markers of malnutrition and wasting syndrome in HF [2]. Lower serum cholesterol, but mainly hypoalbuminemia were reported to associate with hospital death in acute HF [3,4].
