Abstract

Research Translation Contrarian investment strategies, or courses of action that are in opposition to those of most investors at a given time, have been practiced in the stock market for years. However, contrarian approaches are relatively new to human resource management. Authors Charles Greer of Texas Christian University and Timothy Ireland of Oklahoma State University examined this new practice of hiring to determine whether contrarian human resource practices really work.
