Abstract
Blastomere biopsy used in PGD reduces the embryonic cell mass, and combined with the possible embryonic damage, it may be related to decreased human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) production. The objectives of this study are to determine whether the hCG profile following PGD is lower than that of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles and to set up a different cut-off-value of serum hCG for the prediction of successful pregnancy outcome in PGD.
