Losgelöst: Ein Peptid mit einer quartären Ammoniumgruppe als Ladungsmarkierung wird durch Stoß ionisiert. Das Auftreten von sowohl N- als auch C-terminalen Fragment-Ionen belegt, dass im Zuge des Dissoziationsprozesses ein mobiles Proton produziert wird (siehe Schema).
