Documentazione e biblioteche nell’aerospazio

Abstract

Technical and scientific research has always been an important user of the most advanced information, documentation and specialized libraries services. From the end of the Second World War onwards, the role of structures for the access and management of information became increasingly central, due to the development of scientific knowledge and technological applications. Even in recent decades, despite the push towards disintermediation, a significant presence of specialist, library, documentation and information services, capable of supporting the development of research activities, is very strong. In Italy, in the aerospace sector, the Documentation Center of the CIRA, the Italian Aerospace Research Center, is one of these structures. The article aims to present its origins, developments and perspectives for the future.
