Abstract

The purpose of the article is to focus attention on the process of de-Russification of documentary resources of Ukrainian libraries as an important issue for ensuring their scientific, cultural, and educational activities, preserving cultural and historical heritage, strengthening information security and preventing threats of hostile information influences on Ukrainian citizens and library users. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific methods of cognition, in particular, analysis, synthesis, and the logical method. Scientific novelty. The article emphasises the importance of the process of de-Russification of documentary resources of Ukrainian libraries, both for library institutions and for society as a whole, which requires the development of scientifically sound, effective approaches to updating library collections in the conditions of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, taking into account their scientific, cultural, and historical context, finding a balance between the scientific and cultural potential of library documentary resources and the potential risk of their use for propaganda and disinformation.
