Comparisons with international standards reveal significant disparities, contributing to the emigration of medical talent. The NHS's increased reliance on agency locum doctors poses financial strain and affects continuity of patient care. Economic considerations debunk common counterarguments against pay restoration, emphasising the broader implications for healthcare delivery and societal well-being.
