Abstract

Editor's Note: The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has sponsored a Junior Fellow essay contest on a specific theme for the past several years. The stories have been interesting and inspiring, and we have published the winning papers in the Green Journal. One of our readers suggested we consider similar essays from senior physicians. Consequently, we issued a call for papers on the theme “Reflections From Senior Physicians.” The manuscripts submitted were peer-reviewed, and we have selected four for publication in this issue. We hope you enjoy the story that follows. The author thanks Mark A. Maddox and Lucy Maddox for writing assistance. Corresponding author: Paul F. Maddox, MD, 202 Wesley Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390; e-mail: [email protected]. Financial Disclosure The author did not report any potential conflicts of interest.
