Abstract

This paper studies the estimation of the direction of arrival (DOA) of multiple narrow-band sources in an extended co-prime array (ECA) with a mixed noise (composed of impulse noise and Gaussian noise). By modeling impulse noise as symmetrical alpha-stable (SαS) distribution, A new method combining spatial smoothing technique with a normalized covariance matrix strategy is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed method has better DOA estimation performance than fractional lower order moments (FLOM) based method.
