Abstract

The element distribution of distributed array is random and sparse, which may lead to the problem of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation ambiguity. In this paper, a DOA estimation ambiguity resolution method is proposed by using double V-shaped array with a common point. First, we select the appropriate array elements in the distributed array according to the optimal array selection strategy, and construct the double V-shaped arrays with common reference element. Then, multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm is used to perform DOA estimation of the signals received by the two V-shaped arrays respectively, and then compare the difference of the two power spectra with the set threshold value to filter out the spurious peaks and retain the true spectrum peak. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can solve the problem of wideband signal DOA estimation ambiguity for near-field distributed array effectively.
