Abstract
The aim of this paper is to unravel the use of do + subjunctive form as one of the future markers in the Albanian language, as well as its uses where overt modal nuances are expressed. Do + subjunctive form, also known as the voluntative, is one of the future markers in the Albanian language. Even though its main function is the expression of the future, there are some of its uses in which various significant modal nuances are expressed. Thus, do + subjunctive can be used to express epistemic modality (an assumption), deontic modality (an order or a promise), and dynamic modality (volition). It can also be used in conditional structures, in their apodosis, and protasis, to express real and unreal conditions.
