Abstract

This article provides an overview of the paths travelled by the Brazilian Electoral Justice since its institution in the thirties to the present day with the use of biometrics. The effort required an in-depth research in websites of the several electoral courts to identify the Electoral Justice’s difficulties in the attempt to solidify its purposes. An important phenomenon in the future electoral system (and already present in some places), biometrics had to be implemented in stages in order not to run down the rational order. A solid, national database with all those able to exercise citizenship was developed and, beginning in 2008, with expected completion in 2018, all voters started using the biometric system in the elections. It’s technology allied to a crystal clear election.
