Abstract

Evidence-Based Answer Alzheimer's special care units may improve quality of life compared with both community living and traditional nursing homes (SOR: B, RCT and cohort study). In dementia-oriented group adult living situations, patients are more active and less likely to be subjected to restraints than similar patients in a dementia unit of a nursing home (SOR: C, extrapolated from a Dutch cohort trial).
