Abstract

Observable consequences resulting from the extra dimensions becoming large near the source of the geometry are considered. This is shown to be the case for realizable spherically symmetric solutions of the Kaluza-Klein theory. Possible tests concerning the existence of higher dimensions are discussed. These are related to the apparent, strong violations of the Bekenstein entropy bound.
