Abstract

ABSTRACT In times of crisis, the importance of the media to help convey messages that support resilience stands out. The present study examined the possible contribution of 21 daily podcasts that were broadcast on three public channels during a military conflict in Israel (May 2021). The research question concerned the possible contribution of the podcasts to resilience. The research findings show that podcast producers preferred topics from their areas of expertise, including critical journalism. The potential of the podcast to transmit messages boosting resilience, which may empower the listeners in facing the crisis, was not on their agenda.
