Abstract
Abstract A unified Recommended Practice (RP) for safe and reliable design, construction, operation and maintenance of steel pipelines for transportation of CO2 has been developed through the CO2 PIPETRANS Joint Industry Project (JIP). Best practice knowledge and relevant experience gathered in the JIP form the basis for the guidance given in the RP. The RP applies to pipelines for large scale transportation of CO2, relevant for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), and is intended as a supplement to existing recognized standards for both onshore and submarine pipelines. This paper briefly outlines the key content of the RP.
