Abstract
A new method for the separation of galacturonic, glucuronic, mannuronic and guluronic acid and the corresponding lactones by thin-layer chromatography is described. The determination of mixtures of galacturonic and glucuronic acid (1–50 μg) is described. Neutral monosaccharides up to loo μg and lower concentrations of inor ganic materials do not interfere with the separation.
