Abstract

We recently developed a method in single cell analysis allowing for multiple molecular genetic and cytogenetic analyses of one and the same cell. In the actual study we compared direct DNA typing to DNA typing of whole genome amplified single sperm cells. Showing a PCR efficiency of 62.8%, DNA typing of non-preamplified single sperm cells turned out to be superior to single sperm cell samples pre-amplified by means of isothermal whole genome amplification (7.5%).
