Abstract

Recent research shows that artificial DNA constructs can self-assemble fast and efficiently and adopt the precise three-dimensional structures they were designed for. Functional units produced include hotspots for single-molecule fluorescence studies and a nanopore mimicking the shape of the α-haemolysin pore. Michael Gross reports.
