Abstract

Increasing the dispersion ability of curcumin in water is a prominent strategy to increase the bioavailability of curcumin. Iron oxide-silica core–shell nanostructure assisted enhancement of dispersion ability of curcumin in water is achieved. The curcumin is incorporated inside at the time of silica shell formation on iron oxide. The choice of iron oxide is aimed to achieve magnetic separation. Iron oxide-silica core–shell nanocomposite is characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The interaction with DNA is studied using absorption and circular dichroic spectral techniques.
