Abstract
Abstract DNA-cleaving molecules were designed and synthesized based on previously reported phenanthroline-polyamine conjugates. This newly constructed molecule consists of two phenanthrolines, one acridine, and one polyamine, and can more effectively cleave a plasmid DNA. Using this molecule, DNA cleavage was induced without multivalent metal ions or reducing agents.
