Abstract

The study was carried out in 2016 and 2017. Specimens were collected in June 2016(the first sample collection)and December 2016 (the secondsample collection) both quantitatively by Surber net (50 cm× 50 cm, mesh size 0,2 mm) and qualitatively by hand net, pond net. The aim of this study wasto collectdata on the species composition and distribution of the mayflies in several stream systems in Me Linh Station for Biodiversity, Vinh Phuc province. The results showedthat 28 recorded species belongedto 19 genera, 9 families of Ephemeroptera in the studied area. Family Baetidae was the most diverse with 10 species, followed by Heptageniidae with 5 species. Families Ephemerellidae, Leptophlebidae, Caenidae, Ephemeridae, Polymiatacryidae, Teloganellidae, Teloganodiae had a fewer number of species, ranging from 1 to 3 species. In the first sample collection(rainy season), there were 19 species belongingto 13 genera, 6 families; in the secondsample collection(dry season), there were 21 species belonging to 16 genera, 9 families of Ephemeroptera. This study also identified 3 families collected in the dry season, but not in the rainy season (Polymiatacryidae, Teloganellidae,and Teloganodiae). Initially, four types of functional feeding groups were identified, including Collector –gatherers, Scrapper, Predator, ShredderwithCollector –gatherers and Scrapperbeingthe most dominant.
