Abstract
Abstract A rearrangement of cyclopropylmethanols in hot DMSO followed by in situ oxidation and double bond isomerization gave conjugated enals. The transformation was performed in a single operation. Utilization of cyclopropylmagnesium bromide provides a new route for the three carbon chain extention of aldehydes.
