Abstract

As the infrastructure of urban development, China has been focusing on the construction of public transport and vigorously promoting the strategy of public transport priority. However, with the continuous development of economy, the high travel demand caused by the increasing of urban commuters result in the serious traffic jam and bus congestion. In this case, customized bus came into being. It can divert the conventional public transport, alleviate the congestion of conventional public transport and improve the comfort of passengers. In order to better understand the operation status of customized bus, we did the field research on the actual situation of Beijing public transport. Based on it, we do an empirical study of customized bus. Through the model to solve the most appropriate headway and number of departure, and finally we give the actual operation plan for the bus company. At the same time, the sensitivity analysis of important parameters is also carried out. Finally, the results show that our model can effectively alleviate the congestion of conventional public transport and realize the purpose of diverting conventional public transport into customized public transport.
