Abstract
SUMMARY 1 Four cases of diverticular disease of the colon, which is known to be rare in this part of the world, were reported and discussed. 2 All four patients were male of advanced age, i.e., 57 years and over. 3 In the case of sigmoid diverticular disease, there was associated muscular abnormality. No such abnormality was seen in the case of diverticulosis of the ascending and transverse colon. 4 One case presented with a vesico-colic fistula with the very rare involvement of the lower right ureter. 5 There was one case of carcinoma in the region of the diverticular disease.
