Abstract

In this Letter, the authors analyse the diversity order of the precoding-aided spatial modulation (PSM) system with receive antenna subset (RAS) selection. It is shown that when there are N T transmit antennas, N R receive antennas, and N S selected receive antennas, the achievable diversity order is given by N T − N S + 1 N R − N S + 1 , where the product gain of N T − N S + 1 is achieved by the zero-forcing precoding scheme and another of N R − N S + 1 can be attained by the optimal RAS selection algorithm.
