Abstract

Diversity of zooplanktons was studied in two perennial ponds of Madhepura district from March 2020 to February 2021. Altogether 23 species of zooplanktons and 17 species of zooplanktons were recorded from pond 1 and pond 2 respectively. Maximum density of zooplanktons appear in summer and minimum in rainy season in both ponds. Rotifera group was dominant in both ponds. Zooplanktons belonging to group Rotifera, Cladocera and Copepoda were common however, one species of Ostracoda was also recorded from pond 1. Out of 23 species from pond 1, 13 belonged to Rotifera, 5 species to Cladocera, 3 species to Copepoda and one species from Ostracoda. In pond 2 out of 17 species, 11 belong to Rotifera, 3 species to Cladocera and 3 species to Copepda.. KEYWORDS :Zooplanktons, Rotifera, Cladocera, Copepoda, Ostracoda.
