Abstract

Survey was conducted in four agroclimatic zones of Himachal Pradesh during 2011-2019. Five mite families viz. Phytosiidae, Stigmaeidae, Tydeidae, Anystidae and Cunaxidae along with 14 genera and 40 species were observed. The maximum predatory mites (15) were observed on apple out of which ten were found to belong to the family Stigmaeidae; and 25 species of predatory mites were the new records on fruits and vegetables in Himachal Pradesh. The present study updates the checklist of predatory mite fauna (86 species) in Himachal Pradesh with 40 species.
