Abstract

The paper deals with the study of faunal diversity of Orthoptera of Gomerda Wildlife Sanctuary, Raigarh District of Chhattisgarh. Altogether 47 species pertaining to 44 genera under seven families are reported for the first time from the sanctuary. Two species, i.e., Phonarellus (Phonarellus) erythrocephalus erythrocephalus (Serville, 1839) and Teleogryllus (Macroteleogryllus) mitratus (Burmeister, 1838) are new additions to the Chhattisgarh State.

Summary

Introduction

Gupta & Chandra (2010) reported 64 species belonging to 57 genera under 12 families of Orthoptera fauna from Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary, Bilaspur. Gupta & Chandra (2013) worked on Orthoptera fauna of Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary and reported 73 species pertaining to 62 genera under eight families. Gupta & Chandra (2014a) reported 50 species belonging 47 genera under 8 families of Orthoptera fauna from Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve.
