Abstract

Purpose: The main aim of the study was to determine the level of employee satisfaction with work in relation to the size of the organization. Particular attention was paid to the SME sector, which is a dominant and highly diversified group of entities on the market. Approach/Methodology/Design: High levels of worker satisfaction translate into high commitment, loyalty, long-term employment, and low worker absenteeism. The analysis and conclusions were based on a fragment of own research conducted among employees of Polish enterprises. Findings: Problems related to shortage and rotation of employees are particularly visible on the Polish labour market - only 17% plan to stay with their employer until the end of their career. Practical Implications: The main findings indicate that the level of satisfaction with the work of Polish employees is quite low, however, in the case of employees of large organizations it is higher than that of employees of companies from the SME sector. Differentiated evaluations of particular factors determining job satisfaction are also visible within micro, small and medium enterprises. Originality/Value: The originality results from the organizational research conducted on the survey questionnaire on Polish enterprises and the extensive review of national and international literature.
