Abstract

This article discusses how the Cleveland Water Division (CWD) included a diverse team of managers in its strategic business planning (SBP) process to address the diverse workforce issues. The diverse team ensured that the points of view of management as well as of front‐line employees were considered. The team, consisting of six males and five females from different educational backgrounds, work and life experiences, national heritages, ages, and genders, took a comprehensive look at the SBP priorities established by the division and ensured that viewpoints from all levels were considered.
