Abstract

Grasshoppers were sampled on Mont Ventoux in southern France in 1975 and 1976 from ten stations located between altitudes of 300 and 1900m.a.s.l. A total of twenty-nine species were obtained. Eight altitudinal sites were selected because of their similarity in ecological structure. A more or less continuous altitudinal zonation of species was demonstrated, though two possible associations or 'communities' of species were also revealed.
