Abstract
The article describes the role of the Moscow State Pedagogical University in higher pedagogical education as the largest multidisciplinary research and education center. Presents data on professor's enclosure, admission to the university, survey results on improving the social status and prestige of the teaching work. Raised the question of the transfer higher pedagogical education at a higher level.
