Abstract
Three novel tungsten−molybdenum polyoxometalate compounds, namely H2.5K2[Mn1.5W5.65Mo1.35O24(H2O)4]Cl1.5·6H2O (1), H5K2Na[Mn2(H2O)6(H2W9.52Mo2.48O42)]Cl2·20H2O (2), and Na2[Mn4(H2O)14(H2W12O42)]·16H2O (3), were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal their three-dimensional network composed of a framework of M7O246- or H2M12O4210- (M = W or W/Mo) linked via divalent manganese cations Mn(H2O)n2+ (n = 2−4), with the help of potassium for 1 and 2. Magnetic measurements reveal that all the three compounds 1−3 show paramagnetic properties with a magnetic moment about the single Mn2+ cation, indicating very weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the neighboring Mn2+ cations in these three-dimensional architectures.
