Physical Data: mp >275–279 °C (decomposition). Solubility: soluble in organic solvents such as acetone. Slightly soluble in water. Form Supplied in: white powder; widely available. Purification: recrystallized from acetone/n-pentane. Preparative Method: the title compound is prepared from (t-Bu2)MeP and an aqueous solution of HBF4.1 Handling, Storage, and Precautions: this compound has been classified as a corrosive material. This reagent can be harmful if swallowed or inhaled. This reagent might cause severe eye or skin irritation. Avoid contact with skin or eyes.
