Abstract
Two new isomeric diterpenoids named nimbonone and nimbonolone have been isolated from the neutral fraction of the stem bark of Azadirachta indica along with methyl grevillate which has not been reported earlier as a natural product. The structures of nimbonone and nimbonolone have been determined as 12-ethyl-13-methoxy podocarpa-8,11,13-trien-7-one and 12-ethyl-13-methoxy podocarpa-8,11,13-trien-3-one, respectively, by spectroscopic methods and chemical transformations.
