Abstract

Research focusing on the multi-phase coupling problem and ditching performance of a certain type of aircraft was carried out by the volume of fluid model and full-flow moving mesh method. Compared with the experimental results of the scaled model, the pressure predicted by this method matches well, and the maximum error of the pitch angle is less than 1.5°, which can accurately reflect the movement and load characteristics of the aircraft during ditching. On this basis, the influence of flat tails, flaps, and nacelles on the ditching performance is analyzed. The results show that it is not conducive to maintaining a stable attitude if the deflection of the flat tail is too slight, and the advance water-entry of flaps and nacelles will accelerate the decreasing process of pitch angle.
