AbstractThe displacement produced in the half‐space by an impulsive twisting moment applied to a rigid circular disc attached to an isotropic elastic half‐space, has been obtained in exact terms. The stress distribution between the plate and the half‐space is assumed to be the same as in the case of a static twisting moment.
