Abstract

In this paper, general bivariate distributions with conditionals in truncated weighted families are derived. Some examples and several interesting particular families are presented. Within these models, maximum likelihood estimates must usually be implemented numerically. The feasibility of this approach is illustrated using an example involving a simulated data set.
