Abstract

Seasonal and vertical distribution of a population of Onychiurus zschokkei H. (collembola) in the litter of a evergreen oak's (Quercus ilex L.) forest of mediterranean area. In a evergreen oak's litter of provençal area, the collembola Onychiurus zschokkei H. migrated in relation to the microclimatic conditions. The total number of this species was always lower in the L layer, maximum in the F layer, except at the beginning of the dry season. At this time, the most abundant populations have been observed in the layer H.
