Abstract

In order to identify the abnormity of the SLF (Super Low Frequency)/ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) electromagnetic radiation before the earthquake, it needs to study the distribution of the spatial SLF/ELF atmospheric radio noise in China. The atmospheric radio noise is substantially the total contribution of the radiation fields excited by the lightning. The main frequency spectrum of the lightning electric current is from VLF (Very Low Frequency) to SLF. The variations of the atmospheric radio noise envelope level root-mean-square value with the frequency can be obtained for the different time periods in the different seasons by analyzing the published data and AD report. It can be obtained the variations of 80Hz atmospheric radio noise envelope level root-mean-square value along the time and the months for the different time periods in the different seasons at Qingdao, Kunming and Huhehaote in China.
