Abstract
Antibodies to different strains of Rous sarcoma virus were found in the sera of about 50% of chicks. 40% of chicken sera investigated contained antibodies to the Bryan strain. Antibodies to other strains of Rous sarcoma virus were found in a significantly lower proportion (3–15%). Study of the sera of horses immunized with allantoic cultures of influenza viruses revealed antibodies to the Bryan strain but not to the other strains of Rous sarcoma virus.
