Abstract

We have studied the distribution of glucocorticoid and thyroid hormone receptors in partially purified transcriptionally active and inactive chromatin fractions obtained after shearing of chromatin from cultured pituitary (GC) cells with DNase II. The results show that the receptors for both classes of hormones are present in both chromatin fractions, with over 80% confined to the genetically inactive regions.
