Abstract

The distribution of the direct current (DC) potential level was investigated in the brain of 97 women aged 55–74 years and permanently living in the circumpolar region. The DC-potential distribution was analyzed by mapping the DC-potential values obtained using monopolar measurements. The distributional characteristics of the DC-potential level were compared with the average statistical reference values for the corresponding age group. The DC-potential level in 55-to 74-year old women of the North was characterized by specific features, such as the smoothing of interhemispheric asymmetry and higher total brain energy consumption, compared with the reference values for the majority of the brain regions.
