Abstract

Regression analysis of the influence of the structure of nonionic organic compounds on their partition coefficients (K gm) between the sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles and the gas phase in aqueous micellar SDS solutions was performed using the descriptors characterizing the mechanisms of interaction between these compounds and SDS micelles. For alkanes and compounds with hydroxyl groups, as well as for aromatic and aliphatic compounds without hydroxyl groups, the log(K gm) values are described by separate regression equations, which is due to specific features of intermolecular interactions for these types of organic compounds in the case of their solubilization by SDS micelles.
