Abstract

The work is aimed at studying the interaction of laser radiation and powder material, in particular, the nature of propagation and absorption of laser radiation in a porous medium. Measurements of the nature of propagation and interaction of laser radiation with a powder material were carried out using a low-power laser in the “before reflow” mode. The paper presents the results of measuring the intensity of the passage of a laser beam through layers of powder material made of an aluminum alloy AlSi10Mg with an average fraction of 30 μm of various thicknesses. The results of measuring the heating of the powder material under the action of laser radiation and the dependence of the depth of penetration of the laser beam into the powder material are presented.
