Abstract

The polymorphism of the gene frequencies of the five red cell markers, i.e. phosphoglucomutase, adenosine deaminase, adenylate kinase, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase and acid phosphatase, and the two serum protein groups, i. e. haptoglobins and group-specific substances has been studied in a population sample of 224 inhabitants of North Germany. They are in good agreement with the previous studies done in different parts of Germany by other investigators.
